What did we think of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman in WW84?
There are a lot of people who did not like this movie at the script level. It’s no secret that the film was a bit messy, and it’s also true that there were many opportunities for improving and deepening the drama in the movie. Still, Gal Gadot has proven that she can reflect the human drama and give us, the audience, the ability to reconnect with the iconic Wonder Woman character. The things that impressed us most in the film are the reaction shots and the emotion conveyed by Gal Gadot. All of these factors improved the movie and allowed people to enjoy it despite all its apparent drawbacks. For that, Gal Gadot is to be commended for her outstanding work.
What did we think of the director’s work in the 1984 film Wonder Woman?
Patty Jenkins is known as one of Hollywood’s most promising directors. As you all probably know, this movie had very high expectations. Considering this, we felt somewhat disappointed that the film went in directions that can be perceived as outdated or even, in a sense, lazy. In terms of directing, we were willing to forgive Patty Jenkins, but then, after a small check on the internet showed us that she was a partner in writing the film’s script. It means that she has full responsibility for the film and not going into the depth and potential we expected. You could say we had a lot of fun watching Gal Gadot again as Wonder Woman, and we unequivocally want the third film, but at the same time, we ask that in the next movie, we get a better narrative and story.
What about the action scenes in the 1984 film Wonder Woman?
Wonder Woman is a mainstream American action movie. Therefore, it should have enough exciting action scenes in it. We can say that we indeed felt a certain deficiency in the film. But still, instead of action, we got to have a great deal of time with Diana when she’s not wearing the Wonder Woman costume. This narrative took us back to the good old days of Spider-Man 2, but in a sense, Wonder Woman 1984 did not succeed in what Spider-Man 2 did. Because there were holes in the script, we could not feel Diana as we felt Peter Parker while he was losing his powers. Therefore, it feels wrong for us to say that Diana’s narrative was worth it that there were not enough action scenes. Still, yes, we need to say that we had a lot of fun hanging out and spending time with Gal Gadot because that’s how it felt, and we can not say with certainty that it is so terrible.
In conclusion
Wonder Woman 1984 is not the best superhero movie, but still, it has many bright spots that make it a good and even enjoyable film. Gal Gadot and the rest of the cast show excellent human dynamics between the actors in the movie. In a sense, it was more fun to watch the actors’ work instead of the narrative itself. It is not a compliment, but still, it really should not be considered a disaster. The movie is a fun movie to watch with friends and family, and we would love to come back and watch it again before Wonder Woman 3 comes out.
